A new chapter of The Blue Ruins’ epos has been written –”Back to Plan B”! It was born out of
sweat, blood, and a whole lot of psychological manipulation within the band, and it sounds better than anything The Blue Ruin has created before! The characteristic voodoo-sound that has been carefully chiseled during the last two albums has become even more refined. “Back to Plan B” takes the listener on a dark soundscape rollercoaster that will blow you a new hairdo and at the same time take you on a deep journey inwards. The music made by The Blue Ruin is an easily acquired unrecognizable taste, crazy but razor-sharp, and that’s how it should be. Decide for yourself...
The Blue Ruin is a power-voodoo rock trio from Sweden, known for their energetic and heart
spilling live shows with genre defying music that stands the test of time. TBR is dark, wet and dirty
with vocals that thrill and a groove that kills. “The psychedelic tunes digs itself down to the roots of groovy garage blues rock in a true voodoo vibe. Some bands are just ahead of their time” - Slavestate magazine
The Blue Ruin was founded by Jens Möller(bass/vocals) and
Sundus Ilona Abdulghani(guitar/vocals), with the aim of creating a meltdown of
Psychedelia, Rock ’n Roll and Goth. Mats Åberg joined on drums and so Voodoo
Rock was born.
The band has had several gigs in Stockholm and has released 8 videos, the latest video "From Dusk Till Dawn" released in August 2016 taken from their secon album "Holy Moly Materimony". In september 2014 the video Television Borderline was featured by the Pirate Bay witch made the views explode on YouTube.
In January 2013 The Blue Ruin signed with Bad Taste Records and was nominated as best new band at the Manifest Awards.
In the spring 2013 the band released their debut album The New Disorder on vinyl and cassette.
"This is an album that contains music that nobody in the world ever listened to before. One thing that makes both the band and the album so interesting is their way to dare to break new ground. Creating an almost completely own style of music."
